Named
Rangefinder Magazine's Rising 30 Stars of Wedding Photography

Whoah. This has been a whirlwind of a month. Wrapping up a wonderful year, editing away, looking forward to next year. Included as a suggested user on instagram (and for anyone curious 90% of the followers you get are most definitely spam. No I have absolutely no idea how I was chosen. I’m going with the magic burro on this one). Then this.

Recognition is not why I do this. I don’t want my name to be associated with my images when my couples children’s children look at their wedding photos. If my vision and my take on a wedding day can be enjoyed and share the personalities of the people of today for generations to come I feel as if I have done my job. My greatest joy is from meeting wonderful people who love each other dearly and want to share their lives. That’s all I need. So when I was nominated to submit to Rangefinder I was hesitant. A mix of self-doubt, uncertainty, and the fear of being rejected. With a last minute deadline and the urging of Sam I submitted.

Afterwards I entirely forgot about it – I didn’t want to anxiously await a message that wasn’t coming. So when I heard I had been accepted I felt a bit of disbelief, joy and shock. To be included on a list with so many people I respect and admire in the industry was humbling. To see my name in print alongside images of people who trusted me to document their wedding day is still a touch magical.

There really isn’t anything I can say to fully show my appreciation for the support of my couples, family and friends. So, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
