Approach

I’m inspired by the collection of family photos left by my grandfather. Of in-between moments that capture quirky individual personalities, of small interactions between family members. Of classic images in front of national park signs, and photos taken unbeknownst to the subject who were in their element. I hope to tell document your day in a storytelling fashion. Where looking through your images results in nostalgic remembrance. While epic portraits are delightful, I want the images to show how you got there, how you felt, from how the sun warmed your skin, or the wind urged you to remove your shawl, to the tear running down your cheek.

After poring over thousands of Kodachrome slides of family road trips and weddings, I hope my colours evoke a colourful, yet muted palette, of the 1950s and 1960s. Skies that are pastel blue, that light and shadow accentuate the crevasses and peaks of the mountains, of realistic skin tones, and glacial lakes that change hue throughout the season. That my black and whites are timeless and can sit beside your grandparent’s wedding images seamlessly.

My job is to help you plan a day that is true to your story. Whether that be staying near easily accessible meadows or lakes so your grandparents may join, or to plan a hike to a unique ceremony location in Banff all your own. I want to collaborate with you, to hear your story, and to make a memorable day. I hope to observe your wedding or elopement and provide you with images that can be enjoyed for decades. That is my approach.

Mountain elopement and intimate wedding packages begin at 1860. The mountains in Banff, Canmore and Yoho are my exploration grounds and as an ardent hiker, I absolutely love sharing new, unique places to couples who are interested in a bit of a venture and stunning backdrops, whether they be alpine lakes, glacier-scrounged passes or waterfalls off the beaten track. I can help you plan a day unique to you two.
