Derek + Sherry
Coutts Centre Wedding

Sherry and Derek may have just shown me my new favourite wedding venues in the Calgary area. First, the Coutts Centre for Western Heritage, sitting south of Calgary and a bit outside of the historic town of Nanton. With its arch of trees that remind one of the Dark Hollows in Northern Ireland, historic buildings that are a touch of a rarity in Alberta, surrounded by the expanse of Canadian prairie, it’s a bit of a photographer’s delight. Second, Sukiyaki House which is nestled downtown below the Calgary Tower, and if quality food is a priority, well, dang, an absolute experience for friends and family.

It was a day of personalization and celebration. From their handwritten vows and ceremony that told their story (as the elderly dog from the farm next door crashed it), to speeches that had their guests doubled over in laughter and tears streaming down their cheeks.
