Jenna + Chris
Canmore Micro Wedding

Jenna and Chris wanted a wedding that wasn’t quite traditional. They hoped for a short and sweet day with just their families in attendance, that focused on a small ceremony and a delicious dinner in downtown Canmore.

Embracing the non-traditional, instead of a white wedding dress, she opted for a gold sequenced gown that added such a marvellous touch on the overcast and windy day they had. She accented the sequenced wedding dress with simple gold bracelets and a delicate necklace.

Their micro wedding ceremony was at Rundleview Parkette, a more private alternative ceremony location to Quarry Lake. Rundleview Parkette’s backdrop is the sweeping view of Mount Rundle, Ha Ling, Mount Lawrence Grassi, Ship’s Prow. As the ceremony began the wind picked up, the fabric backdrop dancing about them, and the only accompanying sound the trees rustling behind them.

For wedding couple portraits we first took in the meadow at Quarry Lake – an overlook westwards down the Bow Valley. We then meandered downtown Canmore for secret little pockets of light, forest, and marsh with the Three Sisters and Bow River as our locations.

While we took portraits, their family gathered at Murrieta’s – a much-loved restaurant in the heart of Canmore. Located on the second floor, the sweeping views paired with the vaulted ceilings and odes to the mining past of Canmore, Murrieta’s was an ideal place to celebrate Jenna and Chris’ micro wedding. Shortly after the couple arrived, and my day with them came to a close. Congratulations you two.

It’s no secret I love black and white, to see a micro wedding in colour check out Erin and Matthew’s wedding along the Icefields Parkway in Banff
