Kat + Ryan
Seven
This session is a bit unlike anything I have shared before. It’s a touch tongue in cheek, a play at trends and the innate ridiculousness of photos in the first place.
Kat and I first met at ARC, a photographer conference in Vancouver, as she is a Toronto-based photographer. Days before their trip to Banff she contacted me asking for a session that was not so much about the mountains but more just capturing them after seven years, disclaiming with ‘we enjoy looking awkward and ironic and making stupid faces.’ – perfection, absolute perfection.
So that is what we did. After torrential downpours ruling out our first location we drove to Bow Lake, a short drive up the Icefields Parkway from Lake Louise. It snowed. As you would expect in the middle of June.
Afterwards, we stumbled into the local Canmore Pub for trivia night.
This is what seven years married looks like.
