Kristin + Kevin
Winter Banff Anniversary Photography

There is mayhaps a one-week window in Banff where the summer locations are still accessible without sinking knee-deep in snow, the glacial blue mountain lakes are still wide open, the last bits of autumn colour show through, and the peaks are dusted with the first snowfall. It’s my absolute favourite time in the mountains when all the seasons collide in this magical concoction of beauty and I am so delighted I was able to share it with Kristin and Kevin for their first anniversary.

They had flown in from Texas earlier that day, checked into their room at Chateau Lake Louise, then drove the thirty minutes on icy roads to Bow Lake. For having never truly experienced snow, these two were not phased one bit by frolicking (and falling) as they navigated the terrain. Bow Lake is a perfect anniversary session photography location in Banff on account of it its sheer volume of different landscapes. From meadows, to rocky shorelines, to mountainous backdrops capped by glaciers, to mossy forests.

Happy anniversary you two!
