Paige + Andrew
Handmade Prairie Wedding

Oh these two. Two of the most beautiful souls I have ever had the delight of knowing. Nearly a year after their engagement session their wedding came. And how I cannot wait to share.

The morning was dreary. Rain alternated before pouring down and blowing sidewise. The plan to have the ceremony in front of a century old schoolhouse and play lawn games during cocktail hour were abandoned. The rows of farm tables became the ceremony site. Reminiscent of a Hobbiton feast, a proper celebration for a proper event, a long expected party. Every piece of the day put together by the couple themselves and their friends and family.  In the barn as duties were fine tuned and completed, as the wind howled outside and the farm dog peeked with curiosity, yet not enough to follow as people came and went.

Andrew waited outside the schoolhouse with his letter in hand. Then they saw each other for the first time. First relief, then joy, then revelling in the moment, then emotions. In turn they read the other’s letter, each envelope reading My Beb. Squeezes of the hand palpitated each word spoken from the heart to the other. The one watching the other with wonder and catching the as the reader caught glances of their emotion. An observation of the other that continued well into the evening. Two people whose fates were entwined.

The barn creaked and hummed and hawwed as the storm tested it’s foundation. Inside the ceremony took place under a handmade floral arch.  Tears and laughter as words were shared and promises made. A kiss marked the end and the party began.  Toasts for a couple who had known each other since children. Declarations that mayhaps the parents always knew this day may come. Siblings and friends sharing stories that were enjoyed by all. Food passed across the table between new companions. A day that truly was the best day ever.

I adore you two and your love for each other so much Paige and Andrew. Thank you for sharing the day with Sam and I. For being so carefree and hopelessly enamoured. You’re an inspiration.
