Stephanie & Dwight
Handmade Alberta Wedding
Alright. This post is one near to my heart. Stephanie is a person who I have to sing the praises of. She is someone where having them in your life makes you a better person. She exemplifies kindness, grace, and creativity. We met several years ago through our mutual passion for photography and bonded over our love of thrifting and antiquing. She is thoughtful (right down to picking me up some Mountie salt and pepper shakers that I adore), adventuresome (a person who I can discuss are random ventures of traveling with), and absolutely hilarious. Her laugh and her smile are absolutely contagious – which you may notice. She is a lady of strength and inspiration.
Which makes it only fitting that she married Dwight, a man who clearly appreciates and adores all of these characteristics. I love how when they are together they play off each other. How their thoughtfulness mirrors each other. He proposed to her by having her dropped off at the airport by her friend, a surprise trip to Vancouver where he was waiting. A romantic and a fellow traveler. I could not be any more delighted they found each other.
Their wedding was a wonderfully simple day. A celebration of them. Most of the elements were put together by their friends. The custom flower decoration in the middle of the church, the centrepieces, Steph’s makeup. Handiness of Stephanie doting the reception room (oh right she spent part of her getting ready knitting because she’s just like that). I so adored her vintage golden dress – a perfect compliment to Dwight’s handsome attire. Food, provided by Stephanie’s friend Binti, and coffee from Rosso Coffee Roasters, were particular treats for their guests.
Thank you two for having me along. It was a delight.
