Getting Ready Together
Let me preface this by saying, hands down the best thing about weddings is that they are a celebration of two people who are in love and despite all the guidelines there is no right or wrong way to do a wedding. You can do them however you want as long as it is how you want it to be.
I am often asked by couples if there is anything I would recommend or suggest to allow for their day to run more smoothly. I have a few tidbits I have picked over the years – most of these are from couples who did things differently. Earlier I had shared my thoughts on first looks from Susie and Jon’s camp wedding. Today, as I finish editing Angie and Ryan’s wedding I realized how brilliant I thought getting ready together is. I mean after all it is your wedding day, why not spend most of it together? Regardless of the ceremony time you can get ready with your husband or wife to be surrounded by your friends and have a grand old time. How delightful is it share those quirky little moments when you can’t remember how to put on your tie, or need help with that zipper, or write thank you notes for the people who helped you upcoming to that day. They will be equally ecstatic to see your makeup-less face, or your crazy cowlick, because they have chosen to wake up beside that uniquely you face everyday following that.
Something to consider as you plan your wedding.
