I am absolutely thrilled to share that until February 24th I am going to be in Central and South America photographing an organization’s projects and seeing parts of Argentina and Chile. Documenting people and culture is something I am deeply passionate about since having the opportunity to photograph the Mam people in the western highlands of Guatemala in May of 2010 (images here). I can hardly describe how thankful and excited I am to have these upcoming experiences and to share them here.

I would absolutely love to speak to you about your upcoming wedding or engagement and would be happy to set-up an online meeting or phone call while I am away.

Osoyoos Wedding Photography

At the end of June I had the absolute pleasure of seconding for Amber of Amber Hughes Photography at a gorgeous vineyard in Osoyoos, British Columbia. Tammy and Jonas – Barcelo Los Cabos Destination Wedding

Tammy and Jonas’ wedding – way to make all of the guests nearly bawl. So in love.

These two were married at the gorgeous Barcelo Los Cabos Palace Deluxe by Jonas’ father. One of the most relaxed weddings I have had the pleasure of witnessing and a wedding party that was up for absolutely anything. From the personal touches such as all of the parents ‘giving’ Tammy away at the ceremony to the bridesmaids being referred to as BFFs – it was one of those occasions you can not help but smile when remembering.

Of all of the guests that were present on their special day – two very important people were missing. Tammy’s grandfather and aunt passed away this year. In remembrance of them the wedding party released balloons overlooking the ocean as a tribute to their memory. In addition, as the chosen wedding donation couple, their wedding package will be donated to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, which aids in cancer research, prevention, treatment and care.

Anna and Joe – After the Day Photography

In the frigidness (as in -30°C) of last winter Anna and Joe were married. Despite being Canadian (which obviously means we can survive and thrive in absolute zero conditions) the weather may have acted as a limiting reagent on outdoor portraits. Anna, being a well established and talented photographer, and I were talking one day and thought it would be a brilliant idea to do a session, just for fun, in the boonies of Alberta, Drumheller.

The idea was formed and here are the results.

Anna and Joe – The Sampling

Let’s start by getting one thing straight. Anna bakes really awesome cookies. I am considering doing photography exclusively in exchange for Anna’s cookies – so you might want to get to know her if you want me to photograph something for you.

Suzy and Simon – Lake Louise Wedding Photography

Words can hardly describe just how beautiful of a day it was when Suzy and Simon pledged their lives to each other in front of their closest family and friends. Not only was the ceremony and reception at one of the most beautiful places in North America, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, but more importantly every detail and moment spoke of the deep connection between these two and George. What I absolutely love about this couple is despite coming all the way from Bermuda and family flying in from as far away as England, with the weather forecast predicting torrential rain until mid-Friday, they decided to thoroughly enjoy the day whatever came their way. Luckily Alberta provided its predictably unpredictable weather and it was downright gorgeous.

Lauren from Rocky Mountain Weddings did a fabulous job with the details and the Fairmont provided an amazing meal.

Thank you so much Suzy, Simon and George for giving me the opportunity to capture your special day – I can not be more thrilled for your family.
