A wedding nestled in the Rocky Mountains with a bride and groom that deeply adore each other and their closest family and friends can hardly be more enjoyable. From meeting Kelly and Adam last year to photographing their engagement session and witnessing and documenting their wedding day, I can honestly say I am so fortunate to have this job. I hesitate to call it a job because it is so much more. From the cocoa served at their outdoor ceremony, the knitted flags by mothers and grandparents, the inclusion of photographs from marriages before, it was all about Kelly and Adam.

Kate and Luke | Calgary Wedding

These two are such a delight and I could not be more pleased that they now call themselves husband and wife. Kate and Luke were married at the Pinebrook Golf Club on the outskirts of Calgary, overlooking the Elbow River with their families and close friends. The day began at Kate’s mother’s house where the girls enjoyed mimosas and Starbucks. They chose to do a first look – a part of a wedding day I just adore, and the look of absolute joy on both of their faces was priceless. The early evening ceremony was the definition of picturesque and the reception a time of great food, conversation, reflections on the two of them. Following their first dance Kate and Luke asked for all of their guests to join them on the dancefloor to kick of the party. I can’t help but grinning going through their photos and remembering their wedding day as it unfolded.

What a way to start weddings this year! Liz and Wayne were married at Canmore’s Iron Goat in an intimate ceremony followed by a BBQ lunch. Here are just two images from their day.

Michelle and Paul – Canmore Wedding Photography

Finally! I am so excited to share these images with you. As you can tell from the first image, Michelle and Paul were married during the two day time span in southern Alberta where the leaves are still on the trees and are gorgeous colours. The weather was better than could be hoped for, the people around them were delighted, both Michelle and Paul looked amazing - in short the day was perfection.

I can say without a doubt that this is the first wedding I have literally been brought to tears from laughing so hard during the speeches… and the cake cutting. Apparently it isn’t universal knowledge that the first slice is to be fed to your spouse and not yourself. Its moments like those however that made the day all the more special.

I truthfully tried as hard as I could to make this post under 100 images – but it just wouldn’t do their wedding justice.

Vanessa and Greg – Calgary Wedding Photography

Nothing like kicking the season off with this marvelous couple! Vanessa and Greg were married at First Baptist Church and celebrated at the Valley Ridge Golf Club.

In case you missed their engagement images, Greg and Vanessa first met in elementary school – where Greg had a serious crush on her. Their lives went on however and it was until three years ago when Alex, Vanessa’s maid of honour, reunited them. Needless to say things blossomed from there. Talk about a love story!

I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with Vanessa and Greg and their rocking bridal party and I can not be more happy for this marvelous couple. You can tell just how much Greg adores Vanessa by how he looks at her - my heart almost popped when I took some of the images below and this was so apparent. Vanessa vibrant smile whenever he is in the room is unmistakable.

Needless to say I had a hard time cutting down on the number of images. So enjoy!

This is Vanessa through and through. Turns out she has had this expression for the camera since a very, very young age. Gotta love a girl with character!

Okay grandma’s are typically awesome to start with but Vanessa’s grandma was something special. When she was putting the heirloom necklace on the bride it accidently slipped and she declared, “Well look at that dear, it fits perfectly in there!” – I just adore her grin.

Oh I just have to include an outtake here and there.

This is what happens when one talks before thinking. Perhaps saying “Vanessa, you should be a bride more often” should translate into “Vanessa, you should marry Greg every year”
