Desirae and James | Calgary Engagement

I’m literally clapping my hands with excitement for Desirae and James’ wedding at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis at the end of July. They are such a sweet easy going-couple, so photogenic, and an absolute delight to chat with. I can already tell just how much their family and friends mean to them and that a grand time is to be had on their wedding day – and with amazing views and with two people such as Desirae and James how can you go wrong? Enjoy their engagement and check back in only a few weeks for their wedding!

Receiving albums in the mail to photographers is synonymous with Christmas morning for a four year old.

Trisha and Matt – The Engagement

Such a delightful engagement session. Trisha and Matt were so kind in allowing us just to meander through the town of High River, no particular destination in mind, just taking in the sights and sounds. We were there on a Sunday and it was eerily quiet. Anyone who drove by would somewhat curiously stare but wouldn’t say a word. All but one or two shops were closed in the area and I swear there should have been some tumbleweed blowing down the street.

Trisha and Matt are getting married at Emerald Lake Lodge in September and I am so thrilled to be their photographer. They are such a fun and loving couple. Enjoy!

Megan and Cody – The Engagement

Oh Megan and Cody. So much to say about Megan and Cody. They are such a fun-loving genuine couple. Honestly, I am certain I haven’t laughed more at a session than I did with these two.

How they met is such a delightful story. Megan caught Cody’s attention at the local hockey rink in Lethbridge – rather, Megan’s hair caught Cody’s attention at the local hockey rink in Lethbridge. He says he did not even see her face but he knew he had to meet this girl with the gorgeous red hair (and it is eh?!). It required mutual friends to introduce them but as we can all see now it’s a love story.

Joy and Joshua – The Engagement

Have you ever had something you were convinced you could not do justice simply because it was that amazing? That is how I felt about Joy and Joshua’s engagement session. They are such a wonderful and creative couple. Joy is a ridiculously talented artist and Joshua has a job all gamers would give all their lives for.

I will keep this part short as I honestly can hardly wait to share.

Haley and Ryan – Vancouver Engagement Photographer

The way he makes her laugh. Oh the way he makes her laugh!

Ryan and Haley have to be made for each other. The way they just look at each other and burst into laughter. I am seriously grinning from ear to ear as I post these – their laughter and smiles and grins just radiate that much.

Haley and I have been emailing for a few months now discussing the possibility of doing an engagement session, however, both timing and location were proving to be a problem. So, when I decided to make a relatively last minute road trip to the west coast I was delighted to hear we could make it happen! Due to work schedules and a jaunt to Washington we decided to go ahead with a mini session which ended up being less than half the time of a normal engagement session. I think we can all see the naturalness of Haley and Ryan made that shortened time very usable!

When the light was long gone we went for coffee and the best key lime pie I have ever had (and I am quite a fan of key lime pie). I seriously feel like I could have known these two for several years as opposed to an hour.

How lucky am I to have the opportunity to photograph their wedding this coming May? Very. Very very!

Suzy and Simon + George – Banff Engagement Photography

Yesterday I had the pleasure to meet with Suzy, Simon and George in beautiful Banff. Despite a constant onslaught of mosquitoes, avid birders that insisted seeing five great blue herons was a more important way to spend one’s time and some rather menacing clouds I believe this may be one of my favourite sessions of all time. Needless to say I can hardly wait for their wedding this coming weekend at the Fairmont Lake Louise. Check back in a week’s time for more of this gorgeous family!
