What is the purpose of an engagement shoot?
I highly recommend an engagement shoot.First, it is a ton of fun for both parties!Second, it is beneficial both for you and I.I have the pleasure of learning more about you and yours and how you interact, and you have the opportunity to become more comfortable in front of the camera and know what to expect on your wedding day.
The images taken during your engagement shoot can be used for your wedding planning website, a personal blog, invitations or even to personalize your reception location.
Where are our engagement photos taken?
Engagement photos are meant to capture who you are together and the special relationship you have.Due to that, I love hearing your recommendations.Did you meet on the basketball court?Or perhaps at the local college? If you wish to have those locations incorporated into the shoot, great!Don’t have any ideas of your own? That’s just fine.We can discuss what your needs are and find a new unique location!
What is your style of photography?
I tend to see my style of photography to be documentary – with a touch of tips and hints here and there.I enjoy capturing the moments as they occur – your wedding shouldn’t be from a script -its your big day to enjoy as it happens, after all!The main goal of the day is to make sure you enjoy yourselves!
Do you take formal portraits?
Indeed!I recommend keeping your formal list to the bridal party and immediate family. This will allow for you to spend more time with your guests. However, if there are additional shots, I am more than happy to oblige!Typically the week before your wedding I will send you a basic family list from which you can work with to create a personal formal list. This is done to help streamline the portraits and allow for everyone to know what to expect.
Do you travel?
I adore traveling and am available across Canada. Please inquire for more information.
What types of payment do you take?
Currently I accept cheques, money orders and cash.At this time I am not accepting credit cards.
Will you, yourself, be at the wedding?
Yes of course.I, Brittany, will be your primary photographer.
What happens if you become unavailable on the wedding day?
I hope I never come into this position, however if a family emergency or a serious illness did ever arise I will inform you immediately of the details.I know many local photographers who are more than artistically and personally capable of capturing your day in a similar fashion.
Do you bring back-up equipment?
Yes, to every event I bring backups of every type of equipment
Do you require a meal?
As outlined in the contract, I do expect a meal to be provided of some type both for myself and the second shooter if one is present.Typically I will eat while you are, most people aren’t fond of being photographed during the meal.
When are the images ready for viewing?
Customarily your engagement images are available for viewing two weeks after the session and your wedding images a month following the day.In most circumstances I have some sneak peek images on my blog 48 hours after the session.
Do you have another question?Feel free to email me through my contact page and I will get back to you promptly!
