Ann & Brett
Well the past few days have been a mixture of devastating and heartwarming. Canmore, the mountain town I am so fortunate to call home, received 216mm of rain in the past three days – an unprecedented amount of rainfall. This coupled with spring runoff created floods in the area that have claimed homes and lives in southern Alberta. Canmore is currently cut off from the rest of the province. The road to both the east towards Calgary and the west towards Banff are washed out with no reliable news of when it will be reopened. The destruction of property and volume of land that has been carved away is overwhelming. However, the sense of community support and the tireless effort being made by emergency personnel and volunteers are indescribable. It makes me so beyond proud to call this place home. The coming weeks will certainly be difficult as the damage is assessed but I have no doubt Canmore will remain a fantastic place in the world.
Speaking of happy thoughts I am delighted to share Ann and Brett’s Banff engagement session. A couple so beyond into each other and how they can make each other laugh. I adore their sense of style, their willingness to hike around Lake Minnewanka (one of the two in high heels).
Here is a reminder of happy people and pretty landscapes.
