Kim & Eric
Artistic Downtown Wedding

I probably owe my fiancé Sam a bit of an apology over Kim and Eric’s wedding. Largely because as soon as I finished the day I was texting him nonstop about the wonderful people, venue, details, moments, and atmosphere. Then as I edited I once again flooded his phone with updates and swoonings and single images. This wedding is one I am absolutely delighted to share.

Kim and Eric designed and built their wedding with classic gold elegance. A quirky nature with thoughtful details. Kim is an artist which explains the beautifully hand built ceremony backdrop, peacock, hand drawn signs and stationary. A perfect compliment to the open concept Canadian Pacific Rail Pavilion of the Fairmont Palliser in downtown Calgary.

Their day started in their early afternoon as they got ready at opposite ends of the hotel. Eric by himself. Kim with her family and friends. Their was so much excitement for their first look. Soft laughs and gripped hands. Then together they headed to their ceremony.

A short ceremony with a lot of sentiment, love and stolen glances. The most precious of first kisses. And a return down the aisle with gold streamers. Shortly after we escaped to the roof for some downtown skyline portraits. Taking in the light playing with the lines and shadows of the towering buildings I have found myself missing in the mountains.

Kim and Eric’s reception led to more laughing and tears, mildly embarrassing stories, and a bell ringing in order for them to kiss. They then danced their night away surrounded by friends and family.

Thank you two. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is a day I will not forget.
